The Lāna’i Federal Credit Union Offers Share Savings Accounts to Our Members.

A share savings account is the primary account that establishes membership in the credit union. The minimum deposit to open a share savings account is $25.00. Dividends are computed on the daily average balance and paid quarterly.

In order to take advantage of all the benefits available, you must become a member of the Lāna’i Federal Credit Union, and this can be done by opening a share savings account. This establishes your share of ownership and entitles you to begin using all of our services.

Membership is yours as long as you maintain this minimum amount in your share account. Once a member, always a member, if you change jobs or move away, you retain your membership and all of its benefits.

Who is Eligible to Join the Lāna’i Federal Credit Union?

You must be a resident living on the island of Lāna’i to be eligible for membership. Once you join the credit union, your immediate family members become eligible as well. Credit union membership is truly a “family affair”, and many of our members take pride and satisfaction in bringing the many benefits of membership to those they love. Saving money, earning a better rate of return, and paying the lowest fees possible are just some of the benefits you and your family will enjoy!

May I Have a Joint Owner on the Account?

Yes. An account may be opened in more than one name. Only the primary owner, however, is able to borrow on the account. Joint ownership eliminates the complications that sometimes develop when a member dies. Should death occur, the surviving joint owner(s) would then own the account.
